Why Some Raisers Prefer to Put Rabbits Indoor - A Pet Rabbit Care Guide

There are a number of reasons ( which I think appear to be valid) why some rabbit raisers choose to put their bunnies indoor or inside the house. Such reasons are the following:

*Size of the Cage

Rabbits are playful in nature, they run, hop here and there. So as part of pet rabbit care guide, some rabbit raisers think that rabbits need more spaces to move freely. Putting them always inside the cage can be a reason for illness. This is because rabbits need bigger space for exercise. This can not be done inside the cage - even if you use the biggest cage available in town . Though, they can use cages and then let their rabbits play outside, occasionally, this sometimes a hassle thing to do for them. So, as an alternative, they house them indoor .

*Weather Condition

Rabbits are sensitive when it comes to weather. They particularly cannot stand on extreme heat or when the temperature is extreme. A lot of rabbit fatality cases are just due to dehydration triggered by high temperature. Even if waters are available, still these do not guarantee keeping rabbits stand on temperature not ideal for them. Some rabbit raisers put them indoor as it has a more suitable temperature than outside. Aside from extreme heat, they can also be vulnerable to illness caused by extreme coldness. Though, they can stand more in coldness that in extreme heat, it is best to place them in areas having temperature that is not so erratic - like indoor.

*Predators

Because rabbits are more prone to predators outside, rabbit raisers prefer to put them inside the house. Even if they have built sturdy, strong rabbit hutch or cage, still it does not guarantee for their pets' safety. Predators like raccoon can easily grab the toes of their dear bunnies and just chew them without hesitation. As a solution, rabbit raisers put them indoor.

*To make them more sociable

Rabbits are originally from wild but because they are animals that can be trained, they can be a very good domestic companion. However, if rabbit raisers just put them always outside the house and visit them once in awhile, they can not make them more sociable as they want them to be. So rabbit raisers put them indoor so that they can easily get used to an environment which is common for human.

Above are just few reasons why some pet rabbit raisers put them indoor. These reasons might be useful to you in weighing on whether or not to put your dear bunny indoor. These things are important to take into account as part of your pet rabbit care guide.
